Harrow Music Service has launched an exciting new choir for young people aged from 11 – 18 at Norbury First & Middle School, run and conducted by Shereece Storrod, a singer from Black Voices (www.blackvoices.co.uk) who has experience in a range of vocal styles including gospel. The choir aims to cater for young people with an interest in acapella singing who have not necessarily had any previous musical training.
Shereece says of the group; 'It's a fun, relaxed environment where young people can learn to sing, learn about harmonies and make new friends with the opportunity to perform in public.’ Harrow Youth Gospel Choir will be a powerful vehicle for positively engaging young people’s energy and raising their self-esteem.
If you or anyone you know are interested in joining the Harrow Youth Gospel Choir, just turn up at Norbury First & Middle School on any Wednesday during term time at 4.30pm (rehearsals end at 5.45 pm).
Membership of the choir is £20 per term, cheques made payable to Harrow Council London (send cheques to Harrow Music Service, Harrow Arts Centre, Uxbridge Road , Hatch End, HA5 4EA Telephone: 020 8416 8960).
